This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions. Participants can facilitate the group with prior arrangement with Rodger Sorrow

These Deepening trainings are designed for practising skills learned in your
Basic Training, PLUS developing further understanding and skills in the
area of empathy. (The other 'Deepenings' we offer are in the areas of
Anger and Conflict).

On this training we:

• Review and practise the basic ingredients of NVC
• Share the ups and downs of applying NVC in your life
• Extend skills and understanding with the NVC Dance Floors.
• Discover the healing power of presence
• Connect empathically with ourselves and others
• Hear the needs behind challenging messages.

Times: The training runs from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday and 1pm to 5pm on the Sunday.

About the trainer:

Shantigarbha (Chris Warren) is an international NVC trainer certified with the Center for Nonviolent Communication (www.CNVC.org). Shantigarbha
studied Classics and Philosophy at Oxford University in the UK. He now
leads NVC workshops and retreats in the UK, Europe, India and the US
and offers coaching/counseling for individuals and couples. As well as
appearing on Sri Lankan TV to talk about conflict resolution, he has
regular columns on NVC in two UK magazines: Juno (natural parenting)
and Funky Raw (raw food). He is working on his forthcoming book on the

this experiential, interactive and entertaining training you will
learn how to:

Dorset
has 16 years experience in teaching relating and communication skills
internationally. He uses visual aids, music, puppets and role-play
to cater to various learning styles and creates a safe and supportive
learning environment.

Four Facilitators craft a program informed by
our diverse perspectives and styles using participants' applications. Our intention is to collaborate with each other in deepening and sharpening our NVC skills as we live together in interdependent community. During the retreat we live, cook, and eat together in a retreat house. The program highlights are two daylongs, 1 weekend and three 90 minute teleconference calls.

A monthly class based on the principals of NVC as applied to parenting. This group meets on Sept 10, Oct 1, Nov 5 and Dec 3 for the remainder of 2008. This is an on-going group and new participants are warmly welcomed. Integration of NVC into daily life is a focus as well as a compassionate, supportive atmosphere. Join us for a night away from home each month where you can enjoy the company of other parents, have fun and return home with new skills to support you and your family.
